From the introduction : The BUMPER is a step rocket hose first stage consists of a V-2 (German A-4) rocket modified to incorporate a launching compartment in place of the original warhead; a second stage consists of a modified WAC CORPORAL sounding rocket called the BUMPER WAC This report presents an account of the preliminary design work performed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Included are the original proposed mdifications of the A-4 as well as the basic design of the BUMPER WAC. Included in the same folder are 2 photographs of the BUMPER WAC and the WAC Corporal.
